The Davie shipyard is an industrial site that may involve health and safety risks. Davie welcomes all its workers by making them aware of the essential information they need to master when on our site:
- Understand the hazards and risks on our site
- Learn to identify the right PPE
- Know the safety measures to be taken when moving around the site
- Follow work permits for all high-risk work (including understanding lead and asbestos risks)
- Encourage co-responsibility and vigilance on the part of everyone to ensure the safety of all on the site.

The training moduke is divided into three parts. Depending on your profile, Davie will invite you to complete all or some of these parts.
Part 1: Definition of roles related to hot work and associated terminology
Part 2: Description of protective measures taken during hot work
Part 3: Summary and evaluation

It provides workers with the essential knowledge they need to work safely in the factory and on the construction site. The course aims to teach participants how to recognize hazards, follow procedures, and wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) to work safely.

This online training course has been designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and skills required to contribute actively to a healthy and safe working environment. It will teach you how to ensure your own safety and that of your colleagues while adhering to Lassonde's standards and practices.
During the course, you will familiarize yourself with safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements and the best industrial practices, such as handwashing and waste management procedures. The course also covers high-risk work procedures, locking out and tagging out equipment, safety rules for working near forklifts, how to handle complaints of workplace violence and harassment, and the evacuation procedure to follow in an emergency.

The purpose of this training is to enable employees to develop the skills needed to move around with a light industrial vehicle safely within the plant. Participants will learn to follow essential safety guidelines, adopt safe behaviours near equipment and critical areas, and comply with the plant's traffic rules. The training emphasizes safe travelling through intersectoral aisles and priority zones to prevent incidents and promote a safe work environment.

This Lockout Tagout (LOTO) training course provides participants with a clear understanding of safe isolation practices for plant and equipment. It covers the roles and responsibilities of Personal Lock Holders, Isolation Officers, Supervisors, and Verifiers involved in Level 1, 2, and 3 isolation processes. Participants learn how to complete and interpret Lockout Matrix forms, apply and verify locks and tags, and follow proper procedures for equipment isolation, testing, and re-energization.
The course also emphasizes accountability, including proper documentation, communication, and the safe handling of lock removal scenarios. By the end of the training, participants are prepared to ensure that equipment remains securely locked and tagged out throughout their tasks, preventing accidental start-up and maintaining a safe work environment.
